🔑. Laurence Loumes is a European, US and Canadian Patent Counsel, having practised patent law in North America and Europe. Currently based in Paris, Laurence spent 14 years in the US and Canada. Laurence has over 10 years of experience of patent drafting, prosecution, freedom-to-operate opinions, patent validity and infringement opinions. She acts in european patent oppositions and french patent litigations. Her main focus is on mechanical inventions: medical devices, consumer goods, industrial printing, engines and the like. Laurence has a double education since/law. She holds a doctorate in Aeronautics from Caltech and a Master of Laws from Berkeley. During her doctorate, which focused on fluids mechanics, she developed a novel heart pump model inspired from the embryonic heart.
🔑. Ralph Moughanie is Maître de Conférence at Science Po Paris. Ralph is an associate in Hughes Hubbard’s Paris office. He joined the White Collar & Regulatory Defense practice group in March 2020. He defends clients involved in proceedings opened by the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ), the French Parquet national financier (PNF) and / or Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de résolution (ACPR). He also published in Le Monde (American jurisdiction under FCPA and recent caselaw).Ralph has a master degree from Paris I Pantheon Sorbonne in business law and a LL.M. degree from Berkeley. Ralph gave a various conferences including in Moscow about how to manage litigation risk in France after sapin II (compliance law).
