The Legacy of the Marshall Plan and the Post-War Transatlantic Order

This seminar will highlight the contribution of the Marshall Plan to the rebuilding of the post-war French economy and will examine how the American and French governments worked together to develop and implement an effective plan for reconstruction. It will also examine the role of the Marshall Plan, and the French and American leaders committed to its mission (e.g., Jean Monnet and George Ball), in the development of the post-war French-American relationship and the founding of a united Europe.
